About Custom Domains
Custom domains replace quality-qr.app/q/abc123 with code.yourbrand.com/abc123 in every QR code and short link your account produces. This matters for two reasons. First, brand consistency: scanners briefly see the resolving URL during the redirect, and a recognized brand domain signals legitimacy in a way a generic shortener cannot, especially in an environment where users are increasingly cautious about clicking unfamiliar short links. Second, ownership: you are not locked to our redirect domain forever, so if you ever migrate platforms the underlying QR codes can be redirected to a new endpoint at your own domain instead of becoming dead links. Setup requires adding two DNS records (an A or CNAME for routing and a TXT for verification), and Quality QR provisions the SSL certificate automatically through Let's Encrypt with auto-renewal, so you never have to maintain certificates yourself. Multiple custom domains per account are supported, which is useful for agencies running separate client brands and for enterprises with regional sub-brands. Custom domains are a Business-plan feature and add no measurable latency to redirects, since traffic still resolves through the same global edge network as the default domain.
